Latest Peterborough Property Development News
Heralded as one of the UK’s fastest growing cities, Peterborough is certainly a hub of investment and developments, with popular new housing estates and communities sprouting up. Over the past 20 years, we’ve seen the likes of Sugar Way, the Hamptons and more recently the Fletton Quays apartments, which are set to change the central city skyline. But what about more recent announcements on the development front? Let’s take a look at the latest developments that have begun work in and around Peterborough.
96 new homes on former Perkins Sports Association land
Just shy of 100 new homes are being built on the former Perkins Sports Association Land, situated off Newark Road in Peterborough. Work began in December 2021.
The first phase, known as Wolf Square, was completed last year providing over 100 new affordable homes for the area. Vixen Close is the second phase of the development which should see 38 affordable rented and 58 shared ownership homes being built.
The development is a joint project with Cross Keys Homes (CKH) and Vistry Partnerships.
The site has an expected completion date of 2023.
110 new homes approved at Paston Reserve
Planning permission was approved back in April 2021 for 110 new homes on the Paston Reserve, off Newborough Road. The homes will be a mix of two, three, and four-bed houses, with none required to be ‘affordable’. The developer Keepmoat Homes will privately sell the homes once complete.
There is a plan to create 1000 new properties in total on former farmland.
Consultation reopened for new flats in Werrington
There are also ongoing consultations surrounding proposals for a block of 67 new flats on Staniland Court in Werrington. The planning application was first submitted back in 2020, and residents were informed to submit their comments to Peterborough City Council in November.
Recent planning permission applications for Peterborough
We’ve had a look at the approved developments which are underway, but what about the latest planning application submissions? Here are a few noteworthy applications:
- Proposal for four new homes on vacant land in Scotney Street, New England.
- Plans to demolish the warehouse on St Pegas Road in Peakirk and replace it with four one-bed maisonettes.
